Biography:

Ian Hargreaves has over 30 years of practical experience in the management of Linen & Laundry services in both the public (Healthcare) and private sectors of the laundry industry. He has been a National officer of the Society of Hospital linen services and Laundry managers for over 30 years and has represented NHS linen service & laundry managers at the national level during meetings with the department of Health to discuss linen service issues and advise on future policy. He is a member of several BSI technical committees’ and has written and published several good practice guides relating to healthcare laundering. Ian is a member of the technical committee which has updated the guidelines, previously published under HSG(95)18, and is now HTM 01-04:  Decontamination of linen for health and social care.

In 2004 following extensive market research, which indicated a high demand for cost-effective consultancy work, he established his own business, Laundry Solutions. Since then he has undertaken projects on behalf of NHS trusts, Health boards, commercial laundries, equipment manufacturers and chemical suppliers not only in the Uk. but throughout Europe.
